Ripley’s Cade Greenfield: Character Counts Presented By Central Electric Cooperative
- Updated: February 16, 2020
Ripley High School senior Cade Greenfield started playing basketball at the ripe old age of two when he was a member of the Little-Tikes. Now a varsity standout, Greenfield is one of the more versatile players on the team. “Depending on our matchups I play every position on the floor except shooting guard. I also play baseball,” said Greenfield.
As a senior, Greenfield loves his teammates and the amount of fight they bring to every game. “The thing I love most about my teammates is the fact that they never give up and they always scrap until the end,” said Greenfield.
Also a member of FCCLA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and RAS, Greenfield takes his academics very serious. “It’s important to me to maintain my 4.0 GPA and I’m doing real estate school right now so that I can be a real estate agent after I graduate,” said Greenfield.
But before he sells his first house, Greenfield is looking forward to leading this team to something special this season. “Ripley basketball has big plans this year. We intend on making a run at state and with my team I fully believe that it’s possible,” said Greenfield.
One person pushing Greenfield to succeed is his older brother. “My brother has a big influence in my life because he’s always been competitive with me and it’s always pushed me to be the best that I can be. He also always believes in me, which pushes me to be my best,” said Greenfield.
When the season does end, Greenfield and his teammates will have plenty of memories that will last a lifetime. “There’s obviously certain games that I’ll always remember but my favorite memories are just going to be of the times I’ve spent hanging out with my teammates,” Greenfield said.
