Frontier’s Brandon Warrior – Basketball Player of the Month Presented by Hideaway Pizza

Frontier senior Brandon Warrior has been playing basketball since the third grade. He has loved the sport ever since his father introduced him to it.

“My dad got me into it,” said Warrior. “I just loved it from the moment I started playing.”

Warrior also grew up watching his brother play, which motivated him to be even better on the court. Adding this to his naturally competitive mindset and Warrior was ready to play.

“I always watched my brother play in high school, and he was a good player. I just thought to myself that I wanted to be better than him,” he said. “My motivation is just not wanting to lose. I want to go out and win every game and compete.”

In addition to basketball, Warrior is involved in Frontier’s Inter-tribal youth council, Otoe Ascend, and student council. His favorite thing about getting to play basketball for his team is his school pride.

“I get to go out and show what I can do in front of all of our fans and to wear the name ‘Frontier’ on my jersey,” he said. “And to be coached by Weckstein,” he added.

In preparation for the season, Warrior has been putting in work int he gym with his team. He is looking forward to help lead his team to success this year.

“I am most excited for the opportunity to be one of the main players and to get to show my full potential,” he said.

After high school Warrior hopes to continue playing the sport he loves on a collegiate level.
