OFFENSE
Perry is coming off their first district title in 18 years and returning four starters to the offensive side of the ball. “We’ve set a bar for Perry football,” said coach Travis Cole. “We’re excited about the kids we have and our community support. We have some young guys up front that can make us a lot better if they have a good summer and fall camp.” Mason Drake (6-4, 215, Sr.) returns at quarterback, where he threw for 2,718 yards on 186 completions with 29 touchdowns last season. Drake has over 6,000 yards passing and 68 TDs in his career. Wyatt Boyd (5-11, 170, Sr.) and Braxton Dale (5-10, 170, Sr.) are back at wide receiver. Boyd had 43 receptions for 648 yards and five touchdowns while Dale went for 306 yards on 34 receptions and three scores. Ethan Calhoon (5-10, 150, Jr.) saw limited action last season but is looking forward to the opportunity to contribute at wideout. Brody Harbour (6-0, 170, Jr.) had five catches for 70 yards and two scores last season as a sophomore. He also returned kicks for 378 yards and is a threat to take it to the house. The offensive line will feature Caleb Pierce (6-1, 275, Jr.).
DEFENSE
Connor Williams (6-2, 220, Sr.) had 52 tackles last season from his defensive end position. Williams is tough to slow down on the edge. Dirk Dillon (6-0, 175, Sr.) had 70 tackles at linebacker and figures to have similar numbers in 2019. Dale moves to linebacker this season after playing safety last year. Dale had 40 tackles with two picks. Calhoon will start at safety with Caden Hall (6-0, 160, So.) playing the other safety spot. Calhoon had 30 tackles and two picks and has started since his freshman season. Hall played last season and accounted for 42 tackles and one pick.
