OFFENSE

Over the last five seasons the Demons of Perkins-Tryon have been steady playoff contenders — and 2019 appears no different. This year, coach Bruce Williams will look to spread it ball around a little more give his star player, Austin Mages (6-1, 190, Jr.), the opportunity to make plays. A two-year starter, Mages can get the job done on the ground or in the air. Ayron Lawson (5-6, 155, Sr.) starts at running back, giving the Demons two players capable of making big plays in the backfield. Cole Aldridge (6-2, 180, Sr.) is the go-to receiver, giving Mages a legit threat downfield. The offensive line features Alton Allen (5-9, 240, Sr.) and Gage Allen (5-11, 200, Jr.). They will help younger players mature and become key components in the offense. Also look for Kendrick Bell (5-9, 215, Jr.) in the offense at running back or H-back. “It’s an exciting time to be a PT Demon,” Williams said. “We have several players capable of making an impact on Friday nights. Staying healthy will be a key to our success.”

DEFENSE

Experience will be a big factor for the Demons on defense. Conner Williams (6-3, 200, Jr.) starts at defensive end with Kevin Stropes (5-10, 180, Sr.) playing the opposite side of the defensive line. Williams is tough to block for anyone in the district. Look for Alton Allen to plays some defensive line as well. Bell is start at linebacker and is an impact player who brings a lot of swagger. Lawson has the strong safety position and Teegan Shephard (6-0, 180, Jr.) will shore up the linebacker corps at one of the OLB spots. The Demons have a solid core group of players to build around, and if younger players can mature, this team could become dangerous real quick.
