The Lions have been building up their program over the last few years and this year will provide lots of opportunities for success. The pro-style offense has nine starters return from last season including many in skill positions. This offense features a physical running game with a balanced pass attack. Dylan Mahan (6-4, 225, Sr.) led the team in receptions last season and will return to his position at tight end for a big performance his senior year. Dylan McKinney (5-9, 205, Sr.), who accounted for 1,058 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns last year, also returns to his spot as running back. Spencer Clagg (5-11, 220, Jr.) will contribute at fullback. Chance Sullivan (6-0, 215, Sr.) will help strengthen the offensive line at right tackle. Look for wide receivers Darian Mahan (6-1, 175, Jr.) and Javon Frazier (6-1, 185, Sr.) to have lots of opportunities to put points on the board this year. Frazier was injured all of last season but makes a return to the field for his senior year.

The overall team motto this year is that consistency day-in and day-out will pay off. “Do not be out worked,” said head coach Jack Gray. This defense has a goal to be “stingy against the run game and physical against the passing game,” Gray said. A handful of players will fill starting positions going both ways on the field, including Spencer Clagg at defensive end, Chance Sullivan as an end or tackle, Dylan McKinney at cornerback and Darian Mahan at safety. This returning group accumulated a combined 150 tackles, four interceptions, and two sacks last year. At inside linebacker, Taylor Clagg (5-10, 220, Sr.) will continue to be a huge defensive asset and looks to top his total of 121 tackles (56 unassisted) from last season. Tristen Redford (6-1, 265, Sr.) also will be a threat to opponents at defensive end and/or tackle.
