VYPE MAGAZINE ANNOUNCES THE 2019 SHELTER INSURANCE MISS BASKETBALL AWARD WINNER: JALEI OGLESBY FROM HOWE HIGH SCHOOL

Tulsa, OK (March 27th, 2019) – VYPE Magazine and Shelter Insurance are proud to announce the 2019 Miss Basketball Oklahoma Award winner is Jalei Oglesby from Howe High School.

The Shelter Insurance Miss Basketball award recognizes the outstanding efforts Oglesby gave this season as she led her team to a state championship. Oglesby joins a distinguished list of players named to the top honor in the state of Oklahoma.

Oglesby led her team to the Class 2A state title averaging a double-double, 29.7 points with 11.4 rebounds a game. A four-year starter, Oglesby reached No. 3 on the All-Time scoring list with 2,982 points and surpassed 1,000 rebounds for her career. Oglesby helped Howe High School to four straight trips to the state tournament. Oglesby has signed a letter of intent with Arkansas Tech University.

“It’s an honor to be selected Miss Basketball Oklahoma. There are a lot of very good players in our state and it means a lot to receive this award.  I owe a lot to my teammates and coaches. It makes all the extra hours in the gym worthwhile,” said Oglesby.
